INSTRUCTIONS FOR CASPIAN HIGHER® CAPACITY MAGAZINES

NOTE:  You cannot load .38 Super any longer than 1.250" OAL or you will have feeding problems.  This is not a magazine problem but a reloading problem and only you can cure this.  NEVER leave this magazine with it max loaded as the spring totally compressed will weaken faster.  All Higher Capacity magazines have ammunition inspection holes every 10 rounds.

The Higher Capacity® magazines are not intended to be your primary magazine.  This is a special tool to add to your competition when this will save you a reload.  The lifespan of the Caspian magazines I own are over 15 years without ever taking them apart or replacing even the spring.

However, if something happens to your magazine and it starts to malfunction follow the cleaning procedure below.  If this doesn't solve the problem, these will be replaced for $50 (including shipping) but must be returned in an un-tampered condition.  A new spring, follower, and tune up will be made along with a function test before shipping back, expect a 10 day turn around time.

CLEANING
Caring for this magazine is easy:  wipe it down with a dry rag, shake any dirt out from the bottom inspection holes, and NEVER oil it.  Oil only attracts more dirt.  If you decide to oil these your trouble will begin, as the follower and spring are designed to work without any lubrication.

PLEASE, NO OIL OR LUBRICATION
When your friend adds oil, it must be removed, use Brake Cleaner spray from Napa and give a thorough cleaning by spraying the top down pushing the follower down so that you can clean the top portion of the magazine.  Again, NEVER leave the magazine loaded as the spring totally compressed will weaken from over compression.

.38 Super Caspian Magazines

CAPACITY

This magazine is advertised and sold as a 28 round magazine but will hold 29 and by stripping a round, your Caspian .38 Super now has 30 rounds available (see video).  This is risky as you may have a jam or the last round may not strip if you do so, this is why I state they are 28 round magazines, and work flawlessly.

The extra rounds are available now only because of the thinner, welded, non removable base pads.  If you use crappy brass with burrs on the base you can expect to have more troubles. The test run magazines are tested using new Starline Brass and 130 grain Montana Gold RN bullets in several different guns that never jam.

All magazines are made and measured within the legal guidelines as outlined by USPSA @ 171.25 mm or 6.742".
